I loved doing this demo for my Friday afternoon class,
Still Life in Pastels and Oils. I have fun each week
selecting subject matter, trying to offer a variety of textures,
colors, and compositions to continually challenge my
students and offer something new to learn. This was done
on Ampersand Pastel Board, sketched in with vine
charcoal,and then under painted with a mixture of hard
Nupastels and soft pastels. I then washed it with alcohol
and a brush to cover the board and set the darkest values.
Then the real fun began with soft pastels!
